The 2021 major League Baseball season is upon us and with this, comes high expectations from fans of the different teams participating. Every single season sees speculation, especially at the beginning, of what teams have a chance to make it to the playoffs and which might eventually win the World Series.
This has fueled endless dinner table discussion and even bets on the eventual outcome of each season. There are many impressive teams participating in the 2021 League but here are some that have a good chance of making it to the playoffs.
1. The Red Sox:
While the Red Sox are absolute legends of baseball, they have been going through some hard times recently. In the last year, the team has traded Mookie Betts and also finished in the last place in The Division which was difficult for fans of the Sox.
Now, the team is aggressively trying to make a rebound and recover from the events of the last year. To get to the playoffs, however, the team is counting on players like Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts, and should they deliver, this legendary team can come out on top once again.
2. The Tigers:
The chances of the Tigers making it to the playoffs is in limbo at the moment. For now, their strategy seems to be a reliance on young pitchers such as Casey Mizw and Matt Manning. Should these players be part of the next roster, their chances of making it to the playoffs increases substantially.
While they will be taking on big teams with expensive players on their roster, they might just be able to pull through. Now, fans of the team are divided on which players can actually deliver the goods and lead the team to playoffs and maybe even victory.
3. The Yankees:
This team is an obvious prediction to make it to the MLB playoffs and there is a good reason for this. The Yankees are one of the most famous baseball teams in the world and also the most successful in America. So far, the Yankees can boast of 19 American League East Division titles, 40 American League pennants, and 27 World Series championships.
With this sort of track record as well as some of the best players in the game on its roster, some would consider the Yankees making it to the playoffs as its foregone conclusion but only time will tell.
4. The Astros:
The Astros have performed well in the past but their playoff dreams are currently in danger due to some roster overhauls, particularly the exit of George Springer. Now, fans are hoping that the new lineup will be able to perform and take the team to the playoffs this season. The Astros’ current situation is very much a case of a team with Legacy trying to maintain their status and it will be interesting to see how that plays out..
